Energy Innovation: MIT’s Approach to Discovering and Realizing Energy Opportunities

Energy is the challenge of our generation. It requires the understanding of a complex system with solutions that involve business, technical, policy and sustainability components. This innovative new four-day program is designed to enable business executives, entrepreneurs and government officials to more effectively encourage, lead and manage the entire venture creation process for energy-be they stand alone new ventures or pioneering undertakings inside of larger organizations. The process includes identifying opportunities, generating new ideas, designing a holistic solution, and building a viable, significant, and sustainable new energy-oriented business.

Entrepreneurship Development Program

The MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) is an intensive, one-week program teaching participants from around the world how to identify and evaluate opportunities for new technology ventures.

Martin Trust Center faculty members guide participants through the venture process, explore the differences between the venture creation process in various countries, and explain how technical assistance from universities can be leveraged to help create new companies.

EDP targets aspiring entrepreneurs, business-minded technologists, corporate venture officials, and university and regional development leaders. During the program, these participants hone their customer focus and entrepreneurial skills, and learn how to create a more favorable climate for innovation and entrepreneurship within their organizations.

MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP)

The MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program (REAP) enables regional champions and their teams to develop and implement a custom acceleration strategy to propel their region using innovation-driven entrepreneurship. This innovative 2-year program promotes economic development and prosperity in regions across the globe through team-based collaboration, education, and a data-driven approach.
