UNITED KINGDOM
After comparing hot sports around the world to help us build the global network, the MIT E-Center established its first strategic relationship with the University of Cambridge. This is because Sir Alec Broers, Hermann Hauser, Shirley Jamieson, and Tim Minshall share our passion and commitment to high tech entrepreneurship.

Our partnership with the University of Cambridge and the ten Scientific Enterprise Centers (SECs) in the UK expanded significantly, catalyzed by the bright leaders of the Cambridge Entrepreneurship (CE). During the year, our quarterly meetings with the SECs focused on commercialization of University-developed intellectual property and launching business plan competitions.

MIT and CEC are in discussions with like-minded institutions in Ireland and Germany.

The MIT Entrepreneurship center together with The Cambridge-MIT Institute sponsors networking events, training and development programs in the UK. At one of the recent workshops on the critical success factors in Hi-Tech entrepreneurship, students learn "Morse code" when Ken Morse took center stage.

Every year, the MIT Entrepreneurship Center and the Cambridge Entrepreneurship Centre partner together to co-host the annual London Gala Networking Reception & Dinner. The event brings together 400+ significant players in the high tech and venture capital communities in Europe and the US. The highlight of the event each year is the 55-second elevator pitch presentations given by the winners of both the MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Competition and the Cambridge £50K Business Plan Competition.

The I-Teams program at the Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC) is a collaboration between, Cambridge-MIT Institute, CUTEC, Institute for Manufacturing, MIT Entrepreneurship Center.
