Immigration ?= Entrepreneurship

Date

Wed, 11/28/2012 - 12:00pm - 2:00pm

Location

Wong Auditorium

Description

The linkage between entrepreneurship and immigration has been proven by numerous studies as has the linkage between entrepreneurship and economic development. Why then can’t we make it easier for entrepreneurial immigrants to stay in the United States?
In a highly interactive town hall meeting, the Director of the United States Immigration and Immigration Services, Alejandro Mayorkas (the top immigration government official in the US) will talk about the US’s policies and practices to make the US a welcoming place for innovation-driven entrepreneurs. He is also very interested in learning first hand what MIT students believe would be attractive initiatives to make the US more welcoming.

The Martin Trust Center presents this calendar as a service to our students. Inclusion of an event does not necessarily constitute endorsement of MIT or the Martin Trust Center, although we hope that students can benefit in some way from each of the events listed.
