EDWARD B. ROBERTS

Ed RobertsA long-time expert on entrepreneurial endeavors, Edward Roberts has literally written the book on high-tech business creation and growth. His Entrepreneurs in High-Technology: Lessons from MIT and Beyond (Oxford University Press, 1991) won the Association of American Publishers Award for Outstanding Book in Business and Management.

He is Founder and Chair of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center and for over 30 years chaired MIT Sloan's Management of Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group. He co-founded and, for nearly 20 years, co-chaired the mid-career MIT Management of Technology (MOT) Program. Over the past 40 years, Roberts has become internationally known for his research, teaching, and active involvement in many aspects of technology management, including technology strategy, corporate venturing, product innovation management, and technology-based entrepreneurship. He served as codirector of the MIT International Center for Research on the Management of Technology.

When not occupied with his MIT responsibilities, Roberts is actively involved as a co-founder, board member and angel investor in many high-tech start-ups. Roberts co-founded and was CEO of Pugh-Roberts Associates, an international management consulting firm specializing in system dynamics, strategic planning, and technology management, now a division of PA Consulting Group.View More

FIONA MURRAY

Fiona MurrayFiona Murray works with a range of firms designing global organizations that are both commercially successful and at the forefront of science. These firms seek to leverage the ideas of a wide range of internal scientists. as well as external innovators accessed through traditional research contracts as well as “Open Innovation” mechanisms. Her recent engagements have focused on relationships that span the public and private sectors. She is particularly interested in new emerging organizational arrangements for effective commercialization of science including public-private partnerships, not-for profits, venture philanthropy, and university-initiated seed funding.

She is well-known for her academic work on how growing economic incentives - for examle intellectual property (IP), influence the rate and direction of scientific progress - particularly in the areas of genomics, stem cells, and mouse genetics. She is actively involved in U.S. and European policy debates over the appropriate use of IP and licensing in universities and more recently debates on when and when not to use patents to promoted discovery research in neglected diseases. WILLIAM (BILL) K. AULET

Bill AuletBill Aulet is a highly accomplished business leader with a track record of success over 25 years. He has raised over $100 million in funding for his companies and directly created hundreds of millions of dollars of market value. He started his career with eleven highly decorated years at IBM, then the top training ground for high technology executives. This culminated with his being named a Fellow of the prestigious MIT Sloan Fellows Program in 1993.

Upon graduation from the Sloan Fellows Program in 1994, Bill became a serial entrepreneur. He led two MIT spinouts as the President/CEO of both Cambridge Decision Dynamics and then SensAble Technologies. The latter was recognized twice by Inc. Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Private Company. With a presence in over twenty countries, SensAble also won over two dozen awards and was featured in Fortune Magazine, BusinessWeek, the Wall Street Journal and many other publications for its innovative products and strong business foundation.

In August 2009, Bill was appointed Acting Managing Director of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center after serving as Entrepreneur in Residence at the Center for four years. In addition to his responsibilities as Acting Director he is a Senior Lecturer at the Sloan School. In this capacity, Bill has been able to positively apply his knowledge and experience to assist students, new ventures and established firms associated with MIT to become more successful. He has also taught and worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and executives at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Jose Pacheco José Pacheco works closely with the Managing Director, Chairman and other members of the E-Center’s team to build, develop and sustain the E-Center’s research and educational programs, events, publications, alumni outreach, and networking activities. He promotes the MIT Entrepreneurship Center’s courses, programs and activities throughout MIT, manages relations with MIT faculty, students and alumni, as well as entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and private and corporate donors. .

PATRICIA FULIGNI
Administrative Assistant, MIT Entrepreneurship Center
Patricia Fuligni Pat Fuligni facilitates communication between a team of frequent-traveling faculty, staff, and students. Mrs. Fuligni works with all entrepreneurship faculty and teaching assistants to administer a growing set of courses. She also plays a major role in coordinating the networking receptions for the Entrepreneurship Center and design of our graphics. Prior to joining the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, she worked in various administrative positions at the The Hughes Communications Group and Polaroid Corporation. Office: E40-196

AUDREY DOBEK-BELL

Audrey Dobek-Bell Audrey Dobek-Bell has supported the growth of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center since its inception in 1996. She provides valuable support and advice to the managing director in a wide range of initiatives—from research and curriculum development to community outreach, alumni relations, fundraising, and international partnerships. Mrs. Dobek-Bell joined MIT in 1979 and worked in the Corporation Office before joining the MIT Entrepreneurship Center.
