06/08/12 - The Founder’s Skills Accelerator officially began on June 4, 2012. The ten teams completed orientation on Friday, June 1 and were all prepared to take the first steps to getting their companies to escape velocity. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are reserved as “work days”; the teams will use this time to focus on their milestones. 05/29/12 - What new MIT startup has Fox, NPR, ABC, Slate, and Time in a frenzy? LiquiGlide, a company dedicated to increasing the speed of your ketchup.   LiquiGlide's product is a super slippery coating made of FDA approved materials that can be applied to the inside of sauce bottles, like ketchup, mayonnaise, or jam. 05/23/12 - In a hotly contested House republican primary race in Kentuky, Thomas Massie has emerged in the lead. This win in the primary sets up Massie for an almost assured victory in his heavily republican 4th District. Massie graduated from MIT, after studying force feedback systems and design hardware, and later founded SenseAble, which developed tools that aid in 3-dimensinal design.   Read more here. 05/23/12 - Funzio, a company focused on mobile gaming titles, has been acquired by GREE, a leader in the mobile social gaming industry. Anil Dharni, a graduate of MIT, will join GREE International as a Senior Vice President.  Funzio has created the titles "Crime City," "Modern War," and Kingdom Age", and boasst over 20 million downloads of its titles. 05/23/12 - Riccardo Signorelli is working on a new battery system that promises three times the power at a fifth of the cost. His company, FastCAP Systems Inc, has been working to create a better battery for electric cars with the technology he developed at MIT Labratories. “Batteries have been the weak link,’’ said Signorelli. “We simply do not have proven energy storage technologies today that are suitable for our needs, both in vehicles and in grid storage.’’...
