"Thank you very much for providing me the opportunity to carry out this important research. This award has really made a huge impact on my studies at MIT and has contributed greatly to my enthusiastically positive opinion of the Institute as a whole. Few univesities provide this type of funding opportunity for international research.

The committee made a wise decision to increase the number of awards this year. Not only does this sort of funding help the students who are lucky enough to receive it, but it greatly enhances the image of MIT internationally in those areas where research is conducted."

-- Daniel DeLisi, 1999 Carroll Wilson Award recipient, M.C.P. '00 Urban Studies and Planning
